TECHNICAL SPECIALIZATION COURSE IN DESALINATION PLANTS FOR SHIPS
On November 5, 2025, Dessal organized a Technical Specialization Course in Desalination Plants for Vessels , as a token of gratitude to the professionals in the nautical sector with whom we have maintained a close collaboration in recent years.
Our engineer Xavier Portillo , with specialized training in the USA, Switzerland and Amsterdam, offered a complete technical presentation on the different electrical and electronic components of water treatment plants, including filters, membranes, high and low pressure pumps, as well as the most effective strategies to diagnose and resolve the most common incidents.
The course also included a hands-on practical workshop on the test bench, where participating technicians were able to apply their knowledge to common incidents and check the operation of the equipment under controlled conditions.
During the session, we worked with one of our Dessaline Maxi semi-automatic water purification systems, unique in its category for its innovative freshwater saving system during membrane rinsing . These systems can be equipped with the SCADA system , which allows monitoring and control of all operating parameters directly from a smartphone or computer connected via Wi-Fi , thus offering real-time remote assistance , regardless of the vessel's location.
